Man, the State and War Kenneth N. Waltz

As I learned in International Relations 101 (in the 60′s), the definition of Realpolitik is, a nation's foreign policy decisions being driven by its own self-interest (see “Man, the State and War, Ken Waltz). Some of you might have seen the summer 2009 issue of International Relations; a retrospective on Man, the State, and War, by Kenneth Waltz, and its fiftieth anniversary. Waltz is typically seen as the first to bring these tools for assessing international politics to the discipline in his text Man, the State and War.
